WHAT ARE YOU EATING?

The English Sparrow was once the most common and friendliest bird in Britain.

By species, Passer Domesticus is a seed eater, but this sparrow's friendly nature resulted in a gradual change to sharing food consumed by humans.

Like pigeons and doves, English sparrows fed by humans did not need to spend their day hunting for food, so they used their spare time to multiply and replenish England with more English Sparrows.

Unfortunately for English Sparrows, food the bird-friendly English ate resulted in the English Sparrow becoming a vanishing species in Britain.

According to http://news.softpedia.com/news/Beak-Abnormalities-Break-All-Records-165474.shtml, it isn't just sparrows, pigeons and doves that now suffer from beak deformities, but - as USCG Research Biologist Colleen Handel explains, "…these strange deformities is more than TEN TIMES what is expected in a wild bird population."

Although avian deformities are attributed to keratin, oral deformities in humans are also on the rise.

From the many photos published of infants needing cleft operations, it is easy to imagine how that deformity will affect a child and its parents.

Take a closer look at the lower beak of the English Sparrow pictured, which is shaped like an ice cream scoop.

That scoop shape prevents this sparrow from efficiently cracking seeds open, removing parasites from its feathers or, most importantly, from being able to feed any offspring!

It won't matter how many eggs this sparrow lays, the shape of its beak will prevent it from transferring food to any baby bird's throat! Her children will all starve to death!

Although governments and biologists are currently baffled by this plague of deformities (termed, "Avian Keratin disorder"), neither one are investigating the genetic engineering of our food!

Genetic engineering enables just about everyone to grow giant sunflowers, pumpkins, and corn with little concern about the birds and animals that consume the seeds!

National Geographic recently illustrated a RAFI study which, "….compared USDA listings of seed varieties sold by commercial U.S. seed houses in 1903 with those in the U.S. national Seed Storage laboratory in 1983. the survey, which included 66 crops, found that about 93 percent of the varieties had gone extinct."

In 1903, food was primarily grown for a family to live a long and healthy life, but today, food is grown for a profit.

No food - animal, fruit, nor vegetable - is grown to live a long and healthy life, but to earn a profit!

The 93% of American seeds now extinct may have produced more delicious and/or nutritious food than that currently grown, because the current standard is neither for food to be delicious nor nutritious, but simply to be large - and prolific - to create the greatest profit!

Although the upsurge in Farmer's Markets emphasize public resistance to supermarkets choosing what Americans will eat based on profitability, in today's economy "working class" Americans can seldom afford that option.

Or can they?

Family farms and grocery stores came close to extinction in America because of the desire to pass that asset on to their children.

Commercial farmers have no such constraints. Like mining and forestry operations on public land, they maximize profit to the detriment land, and then endeavor to sell the depleted land to a competitor.

But that is not the end of commercial greed!

Michael Douglas may promote, "Greed is good!" but, truth be told, integrity is better!

For generations, American mothers made tuna fish sandwiches for their children to eat at school.

Mothers today who actually read the label will discover that, when they buy a 5-ounce can of tuna, they actually pay for only TWO ounces of fish, the remaining three ounces are "fillers" of water/broth/oil.

Pumping up food with water, chemicals, and other fillers to increase profits is the American standard today. Recent reports claim that the McDonald's Fish sandwich is more corn than fish, and the fish is one consumers won't buy!

In fact, most of the food Americans eat today is so filled with rubbish it should more truthfully be labelled "toxic pig slop"!

Vegetarians are well acquainted with facts that chickens are not bred to live a long, healthy life, but to become as obese as possible in as short as time as possible at the least amount of cost.

Even after the chicken (caged to prevent it from running around and burning off calories) gains the desired weight, it is injected with water and other fillers to increase its weight, and may eventually be sold covered with bread crumbs to conceal its poor health.

In days of yore, there were butchers to cut meat to a customer's specifications, but meat sold today is pumped up with water and other fillers, then injected with red dyes to conceal color, then packaged with a large label to conceal discoloration/fat/gristle/bone etc., until the purchaser returns home and unwraps it.

Integrity has no place in American business today.

But vegetarians can not crow about the meat industry because the fruit and vegetables suppliers are just as wicked!

Whether or not it is labelled "organic", vegetables sold in supermarkets are "washed" (read "soaked to increase weight"), so that a labelled "organic" cantaloupe may be "washed" in the same water as cantaloupe from other fields (or countries) - thereby soaking up all the impurities from contaminated melons.

Who hasn't purchased strawberries "On sale" in America, which weren't pumped up with water and other fillers, with choice berries on top covering layers of unripe/diseased/fungal/rotting strawberries beneath, possibly not even from the same field or species?

"An apple a day keeps the doctor away" is no longer true in America because our fruit and vegetables are "treated" like a candy apple to increase profit.

An apple that falls to the ground may stimulate Newtons, but in the USA, it is no longer sold for cider or apple juice, but instantly becomes an "organic" apple sold at premium prices! Even "pure" American orange juice has been blended with cheaper toxic orange juice from Brazil and Mexico!

Strolling through an American supermarket is a study in duplicity.

Food sold by weight has invariably been pumped up with water and other fillers. Other food has been "enhanced" with the addition of fillers, chemicals, etc., or is buried under unknown bread crumbs, gravy, etc., proving that Americans will happily buy food they can not see!

The result is American belief that they are eating - (feeding their family) nutritious food when, in fact, all Americans are primarily filling up on concealed, suspect "fillers" which seem to result in deformities - and obesity!

Despite government/health industry brochures, our real food chain is one that comes back to us.

Genetically engineered/filler food not consumed by humans is consumed by birds and animals that humans eat, most especially by chicken, turkey, beef, and pork.

Vegetarians get a cocktail mix from bird/animal waste which fertilizes crops before they are "enhanced" for market.

Since time immemorial, farmers have selected the best of their crop or livestock to propagate future generations, much the same as royalty, rich, or powerful men choose a trophy wife to offset their shortcomings, e.g., a 5'2" Napoleon choosing 5' 4.5" Josephine to produce taller, more handsome sons.

But "Natural selection" is a long and expensive project, whereas genetic engineering produces results before consequences can be measured.

The price of corn is expected to rise substantially in 2012 because it is a source of energy as well as food.

Genetic engineering has resulted in prolific cobs resistant to pests and disease but not human tampering!

As one example, research may claim "high fructose corn syrup" is safe for human consumption, but how safe is it when it becomes filler for a can of kidney beans or yams? (A can of "healthy" kidney beans typically contains, "water, sugar, salt, high fructose corn syrup").

Every high school chemistry student learns that some things have such an intense dislike for other things that any meeting of the two results in an explosion.

Neither government nor scientists can currently explain why birds and animals consuming the same food as humans, yet having much shorter life spans, are suddenly developing life-threatening abnormalities.

Due to the public lack of interest and therefore funding, we know such research will always be well behind commercial research into pumping up food for profit.

At this moment in time, no other country on Earth wants to adopt the USA "For Profit" healthcare system, not only because it is the most expensive, but because it produces the worst results of any "developed" nation (despite being the "richest nation on earth" compare the USA infant Mortality Rate with that of other "developed" nations" how much of that is caused by "filler" baby food and formulas?).

We also know that pumping up food with fillers is pumping up American weight and healthcare costs.

Finally, we know we can not trust government, nor American business, to provide healthy food for our children to eat.

A little bird told me to ask the only remaining question, "What are you going to do about it?"
