Warnings, Bannings, Appeals Contact the moderators: Scott, Joseph and Kristi |
WARNINGS and BANNINGS
We try to be impartial and moderate fairly, we do not like to ban people or delete posts or lock threads, but if you have already been spoken to by a moderator (whether by receiving an official warning or an informal suggestion) and you continue to push the moderators' limits or patience, or if you continue (or begin) antagonizing them, this will not be tolerated for too long, most of the time. It may also result in a warning being given or in the poster's removal.
Warnings
Breaking the rules may result in a "warning".
Things like posting in the wrong forum, etc, will most likely not result in a warning. Warnings will be handed out (at a moderator's discretion) for breaking the board's rules. The usual way warnings and bannings will progress are (see below for exceptions):
First warning - sent by private email (if you've supplied your email address publically), and / or posted in response on the forum. Offending post may or may not be removed, at a moderator's discretion.
Second warning - sent by private email (if you've supplied your email address), and posted in response on the forum. Offending post may or may not be removed, at a moderator's discretion. Also, a notice will be given that this is the last warning.
Third warning - not really a warning, just a notice of...
Banning
After the warning sequence, the offending poster will be banned from posting further on the forum. In extreme cases, the offending poster's ISP and /or EZ Boards staff may be contacted.
Appeals
If you feel you have been unjustly warned or banned, please contact the moderators by email, explaining your reasons. The moderators will discuss the situation and the warning or banning may be lifted. We have unbanned people before.
Unbanning
If, via the "appeals" process, you have been unbanned, you are on probation. A single warning (instead of the usual two) will be issued in the event of an offensive post. A second offensive post while on probation will result in a permanent re-ban (appeals will be ignorned).
Warning and Banning Removals
Warning counts may be decreased at a moderator's discretion, for things like prolonged good behavior, extended absenses, etc. These factors are not automatic guarantees.
Warning and Banning Exceptions
The moderators reserve the right to issue warnings and bannings (with or without prior warnings) at their discretion. The above 2-warning pattern will be usually followed, but in extreme cases more immediate action is sometimes necessary.
The moderators may also choose to issue more warnings than the normal two before banning, but notification of "last chance" will always be given when the final warning has been issued. You will pretty much be able to tell if the moderators are getting fed up with you and you're skating on thin ice.
THE RULES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE WITHOUT NOTICE
We are not responsible or necessarily in agreement with the comments and/or URLs which may be posted in messages from time to time. We reserve the right to remove objectional posts and URLs at our discretion and archive them for those who request them.
The purpose of the above rules is to help the users of the board maintain the kind of attitude that we as Christians should have for one another and for non believers. So remember this rule of thumb: HOW you post is just as important as WHAT you post.
