BVDB (Bible Versions Discussion Board) is a moderated collection of fora by Christians for Christians, primarily but not solely for discussion of topics related to Bible Versions. This includes, but is not limited to, textual questions and textual criticism, Bible history, version comparison, translational issues, etc.
The administrators and moderators ask that posts be on the topic of Bible versions and related issues (except for the "Anything Goes" forum, see below).
The breakdown
of available forums on the board is as follows:
Bible Versions Forum - general discussion about Bible translation issues. No KJV-only discussion allowed in this forum.
KJV-Only Forum - general discussion about KJV-onlyism. Friendly debate welcome.
Definitions and Information Forum - a place for defining terms or providing information ONLY. Please no discussion in this forum. If you start a discussion in this forum, it will be moved to a more suitable forum.
Anything Goes - discussion about non-version issues (prophecy, music, moives, denominations, whatever). This forum will be less strictly monitored and moderated. Please do not advertise products or services in this forum or in the others.
General Theology - discussion concerning God and religious questions; topics pertaining to Calvinism and Arminism are of special interest in this forum.
The Vault - a forum accessible only to board administrators. We tend to stash offensive or spam posts in this forum. To this point in time, (September 2002), we don't use it for conversational purposes.
Archives -
All forums are archived at BVDB - archived and locked threads for reference. Cut and paste these old posts into new ones into the applicable active forum, if you need to.
The board is meant to be fun and informative, even when there are disagreements. Due to some problems in the past, as well as some misunderstandings and questions about the purpose and restrictions, a series of rules had to be devised and listed.
