Whenever you get the time, do take a look at the rest of these rules. We do not expect you to have them memorized or know them all at once.

We realize that

a.) we have a lot of rules and that b.) some Non-Christian posters will think of our rules as being very limiting.

Remember: the moderators here are reasonable, understanding individuals [when not having a bad day -- Kristi F., admin; I speak for myself :o) ] who will try to give posters a break. We are not Neo-Nazi's who enjoy hampering freedom of expression / freedom of speech. We rarely censor, ban, delete or edit members and / or posts.

Common sense and decency should be all that's needed to get you through your experience at BVDB successfully, but we have had some adult posters (both Christian and NON Christian) who had to have things spelled out for them.

Blasphemy and Trolling - required reading for Non Christian Posters:

Blasphemy and Trolling - not allowed

• Blasphemous or obvious attacks on any aspect of Christianity will be nuked, with the likelihood of immediate ban. (See the "Penalties/Consequences of Breaking Rules" page for more infomration on warnings and bannings.)

Among other things, this means referring to any member of the Trinity or the Bible in obscene terms is not welcomed.

Religion Comparison - not allowed (but somewhat tolerated in the "Anything Goes" Forum)

Posts proclaiming any other religion or cult as the true religion will not be allowed, not even in the "Anything Goes" forum (although honest and friendly comparsion will be; the admins and mods will decide what constitutes "honest" and "friendly").

Posts proclaiming any other religion's or cult's "scriptures" as the true scriptures will not be allowed, not even in the "Anything Goes" forum (although honest and friendly comparsion will be).

Jehovah's Witnesses, Mormons, Muslims, atheists, Satanists, Pagans, Wiccans, and other assorted critics of Christianity or the Holy Bible who post here to promote or defend their beliefs or sacred writings, whether it be the Book of Mormon, New World Translation, (or in the case of Roman Catholics) alleged papal supremacy/infalliblity (or what have you) are strongly discouraged from doing so.

Futhermore, such posts may be deleted at the discretion of the administrators or moderators without prior warning or notification.

Genuine seekers are welcome, but arguing about Christianity just for the sake of arguing, in that trying to aggressively or rudely "cram your beliefs down our throats" will be viewed as "trolling" (intentionally trying to start trouble, otherwise known in net lingo as "flaming") and will not be tolerated.

We do not regard polite and fair postings that disagree with our beliefs to be trolling.

Roman Catholics / Greek (Eastern) Orthodox may post at this series of forums, but we do not want any posts that would seek to undermine Baptist or Protestant beliefs or that would try to promote beliefs unique to Roman Catholicism. Anyone wishing to debate about Roman Catholic issues is invited to do so at another discussion board, Inquisition Discussion Board, which is loosely moderated by one of the administrators of this boaard.

AGAIN: This is a series of discussion forums by Christians, primarily for Christians, not a "Christian vs. Atheist" or "Christians vs. Jehovah's Witnesses / Mormon / Satanists / Pagans / Wicca" board or a Baptist and Protestant Vs. Roman Catholics board. There are other boards out there which cater to these sorts of topics and debates - Bible Versions Discussion Board is not one of them. We have links to some of these sorts of discussion boards in our "EZ ring" menu, which appears at the bottom of BVDB's main page.

This board is NOT an arena for atheists, agnostics, Satanists, or other non-Christians to debate with Christians about theism, the Bible, or any other Christian-related ideas and views.

Insulting Jesus, the Bible and any other Christian-related personages / issues is not allowed; includes using profane terms, whether in post content, sig lines, screen name, or any other area or manner

Challenges to the accuracy, truthfulness, authorship, origin, reliability and inerrancy of the Bible, theism, or of Christianity itself will usually not be allowed.

Arguing, insisting, or implying that Christianity is not true and that the Bible contains error (or pasting someone's comments along those lines) at our board is not typically allowed (if it is permitted, it will be within reason; left up to the discretion of the moderators).
