If you are new to the discussion board, and you wish to particpate in the King James Only forum please read THIS PAGE FIRST (a page of previously discussed topics and persons at our KJO forum) in addition to this page and our main rules page.

This is a public forum, and we will certainly get some non-Christians in here. It is common sense that one Christian calling another Christian names is not the best witness we can give the world. We should strive to do everything in love, even when we disagree. Dozens of verses emphasize that we should love one another, especially within the body of Christ.

Christ occasionally used strong words, but we are not Christ. Christ had perfect and full knowledge of the situations, and was absolutely right and spoke with absolute authority. Since the question of Bible versions and text-types is not perfectly and fully known to any of us, we cannot be absolutely sure that we are in the right, or speak with absolute authority.

Thus, we should not use put downs and insult terms, for it may turn out that the opposite party is correct and we would be put to shame. Christ did not have that possibility.

REMINDER: DO NOT INSULT PEOPLE OR BIBLE VERSIONS

Do not refer to other people by insulting terms. There are warnings in scripture that we should not use this type of namecalling (Matt 5:22b, etc)

Negative assumptions and generalizations (terms like "perversions," "antichrist Bibles", "new age versions", "apostates", "heretics", etc.) of modern versions, modern texts, or Alexandrian manuscripts or the individuals who worked on these materials are not allowed. Such terms may be allowed on a specific basis, at moderators discretion of what constitutes inflammatory behavior/commentary.

Miscellaneous comments, such as implying Satan's hand in non-KJV Bibles, referring to the NIV (or other versions) as a "perversion" (or some other similiar insulting term), feigning spiritual superiority, condecension and whatever a moderator deems inflammatory are not allowed.

ADDRESSING ADMINS OR MODERATORS

Referring to administrator Scott McClare as "Scotty" is not permitted.

Referring to administrator Kristi with the terms "heretik," "Nazi," "witch" or keeper, instigator, or organizer of a "coven" in any of their possible spelling variations -- is not permitted. Rememer as well that the rules concerning Gender applies to Kristi too (see "No Ad Hominem / Personal Attacks / Flame Wars > Gender - not an issue") .

When quoting an author or speaker, please supply the source and context of the quote. Failing to do this will not result in a warning, but the info would be greatly appreciated.
