Well first of all I grew up on the Island of OAHU. We moved there in 1967 from California.My Dad was in the Navy and got transfered. It was along way from the rest of our family who all lived in the Central States. One of the biggest traditions in Hawaii is the giving and recieving of LEI'S. You give and recieve them for any reason but for the most part its when saying Hello or Good-bye.. I loved growing up in Hawaii. There was PEARL HARBOR and of course the BEACHES. There seemed to be alot to do on an Island that you couldn't drive off of. LOL... Some of the best beaches to me were, Sandy's, Bellows, Hanuuma Bay, and many more... Hawaii has such beauty that its hard to tell you all about it. And it has its own Language which you must try to read.. It is called ""PIDGIN" its just a way of speach.. One of my favorites is " Eh Brah! you like go da kine".. which means hey man do you wanna go to the ?????. kine means anywhere your discussing.. On my Facts page it will give you some idea about my homeland.I Graduated fromRadford High School in 1980.. We had King's & Queen's that ran the Island long ago and lived at the Palace which is now a tourist attraction. Long ago they over threw the Queen and took her title away. And it was then that hawaii lost the Monarchy.. Everyone who knows where I came from things "oh wow" youre from hawaii and how they want to go.. Hawaii is indeed the pretties place I've yet to have the pleasure of living but its not all the beauty that I long for It's the place I call HOME..Growing up as a child we heard of all the things the ancient Hawaiians called "TABU" which means its forbidden. And plenty of things about "MENEHUNES" they are always to blame when things were done. Its funny now as an adult all the "MYTHS" I still believe as I did when I was a child.. I married Glenn in 1990 he was in the Army and his tour was up in 1993 so we packed up and said good-bye to my island home and went to Missouri with our 3 girls.. And that is were we reside today. I lived in hawaii for a total of 27 years and wouldn't change a thing.. I'll be adding much more to this page. There is so much to share with you check back often ok....
