So who and what exactly is Everclear?

    Everclear is a rockin' three member band a.k.a. "trio," founded in Portland, Oregon by lead singer Art Alexakis. 

   Art placed an ad in a Portland newspaper in search for bandmates.  Craig Montoya answered the ad and came in as the band's bass player.  Scott Cuthbert was the original drummer, but he had been kicked out for drug use.  Greg Eklund of Jollymon, a band from Eugene, Oregon, moved to Portland after the release of the album Sailing, and came in as a replacement drummer for Cuthbert.

   Everclear was named after an alcoholic beverage.  An extremely intense substance that could actually knock out a bull twice, after one drink.  Now that's some really strong stuff.  Art claimed he liked the way it sounded...Everclear.  A pretty intense name for a pretty intense band.  Don't you think?
