The two ten-year-olds sat surrounded by toys and other little things. A huge coffee can sat between them.

"I think we should put everything in, Taylor," Ashley told him, holding up a bikini-clad Barbie.

"We don't have room for everything," Taylor argued. "Besides I do not want to dig up Malibu Barbie in 10 years."

"Hey! It will be part of history," Ashley shot back.

"I am not having a doll in the time capsule," Taylor replied, shaking his head furiously.

"Well I don't want that GI Joe in there, but I'm not whining about it," Ashley retorted.

"You just did," Taylor snapped.

"Did not."

"Did too."

"Did not."

"Did too."

"Did not."

"Hey, hey, what are you 2 arguing about?" Mrs. Hanson asked, intervening in their little spat playing out in her living room floor.

"Mom, I wanna put GI Joe in the capsule and not Barbie," Taylor explained.

"But, you see, Mrs. Hanson, I do want Barbie," Ashley said immediately after.

"Well, why don't you put both?" Mrs. Hanson asked.

"We don't have room," Taylor said in a "duh" voice.

"Well how about this?" She walked into the kitchen and returned with another coffee can.

"Here. Ashley you fill this one up, and Taylor you fill the other one up," Mrs. Hanson said, tossing it to Ashley.

The two kids agreed.

"Thank you Mrs. Hanson," Ashley said.

"No prob, honey," Mrs. Hanson said, smiling.

"You had a fight over Barbie and GI Joe?" Martha asked, picking up the blow dryer to finish off drying Ashley's hair.

"We fought about anything we could think of," Ashley said, dismissing it with a shrug.

"Strange children," she commented.

"That, Martha, we were."
