Trailblazer
(Alteration, Invocation/Evocation)
Level 4
Range: Special
Component: V, S, M
Duration: 1 turn/level
Casting Time: 1 round
Area of Effect: Special
Saving Throw: Special
Once this spell is cast, if the caster creates a trail and someone starts to follow it, the caster will know about it. Though the caster cannot know who is on his or her trail, the caster will know that someone is following. The thing on the trail must be following the trail for at least 3 rounds to be noticed by the spell.
At anytime the caster knows that he or she is being followed, the caster may cast a return spell on his or her trail. For example, if the caster knows that a band of orcs is on his or her trail, the caster may cast a fireball, lightning bolt, etc. into his trail. The return spell will follow the trial to those followes and strike. The return spell will look like a lightning version of the spell as it leaps from the caster along the trail to those who are following. Those on the trail are allowed a save vs. the spell against the spell. The range of the return spell is the duration of this spell. The return spell will travel at 25' per round until it strikes.
Only spells equal or lower than 4th level may be cast through this spell.
The material component of this spell is dirt from the casters trail and the return spell components.
Notes: Rare spell.
