Thunderburst
(Conjuration/Summoning)
Level: 7
Sphere: Weather
Range: 0
Components: V, S
Duration: 1 rd./level
Casting Time: 1 rd.
Area of Effect: 360-foot radius
Saving Throw: ½
This spell causes the area of effect to cloud over, and at the end of the round the caster can call down one natural bolt of lightning to strike the ground for every level he has attained (as per the 3rd-level spell, call lightning).
Any one creature can only be struck by one bolt of lightning, as lightning never strikes the same exact spot twice. These bolts are high enough that they span from the cloud overhead to the spot on the ground where they are targeted; furthermore, they are each 10-foot in diameter.
These bolts each cause 1d8 points of damage per level of the caster, and the victim(s) get a saving throw for half damage (save for quarter damage if it is from a multiple lightning strike, as only the first bolt would then have maximum effect).
This spell must be cast out doors, as it requires open sky to be effective. It does not function indoors, under ground or underwater.
Notes: Very rare spell.
