This spell creates a fully functional golem similar to a really sped up process indicated in a manual of golems, except the caster need only touch a large mass of raw or now useless material of the sort of which he wants the golem to be made from. Furthermore, the golem is fully made and functional in a matter of seconds, although this taxes the casting wizard greatly.
This takes only a single round to cast and the effects are immediate after this spells casting, although it takes its toll on the caster, dropping each of his main physical statistics (Strength, Dexterity, and Constitution) by 8 each! Plus the caster must make three ability checks successfully or permanently lose 1 point from each of the relevant ability scores and make a successful System Shock roll or fall into a coma-like state for 9 weeks, less 1 week for every point of Constitution he has left after the 8-point drop. If this reduces any one of the ability scores to 0 or below the caster collapses and must make a successful System Shock check or die; then even if he makes the System Shock roll he will be rendered in a coma for 1 month for every point below 1 his ability score(s) was reduced. These penalties then remain until the wizard can get sufficient rest. For each day that the caster gets complete bed rest, he may roll an ability check against each of these three statistics at half their normal totals; for every ability check he makes, he gains back 1 point of the relevant ability score.
For example, a archmage with a Strength of 12, Dexterity of 11, and 12 Constitution casts this spell on a pile of rumble from a tower he just collapsed; the caster then loses 8 points of each of the above abilities and creates a stone golem! With his statistics reduced to 4 Strength, 3 Dexterity, and 4 Constitution, he is with his golem and must make a System Shock roll or collapse.
(Note that this spell is so taxing that any wizard who attempts to cast it twice in the same year must make all his checks and System Shock rolls at half. And those that cast it more than that have their rolls penalized by half again for every time they cast it beyond the second casting.)
The material component for golem is a large amount of raw materials, from which the golem is to be constructed, the wealth indicated for the golem type according the manual of golems write-up in the DMG, and a magical items worth at least 10,000 experience which are torn apart and has their energies sacrificed in order to animate the construct. The magical items must be thrown into the air during the casting, where they then break apart and merge with the materials, infusing it with animating and arcane energies.
