This spell encases the caster’s hands in bluish-black crawling lightning of extreme cold. This creates light equal to a half radius light spell for the purposes of what can be seen from the spell-generated light. Otherwise the spell can be used to blast foes up to 5 yards away from the caster per level he has achieved. These blasts cause both cold and lightning damage in close succession, causing 1d12 points of damage, plus another 1 point of damage per level of the caster (a saving throw vs. spell reduces this damage by half); in addition the victim must also make another saving throw or suffer the loss of 2 points of Strength (a successful save reduces this by Strength loss by 1 point).
Furthermore, since these two very different types of effects are crashing into a being, even if a being struck in this way are immune to or protected against both types of attack, both cold and lightning attacks, they will still suffer 1 point of damage per level of the caster from the extreme shock to their system.
The material component for chillshock is a crystal rod and a piece of ice from the Para-Elemental plane of Ice.
