The Wild Art of Piper

Chaos Mist*
(Alteration)
(Wild)

Level: 4
Range: 10 yds./level
Components: V, S, M
Duration: 4d6 rds.
Casting Time: 4
Area of Effect: 20-ft. cube
Saving Throw: Neg.

This spell creates a cloud of mist the color of rust. This mist separates matter into its individual components. Thus tearing objects apart and causing damage to all beings within the mist. Objects in the mist must save vs. Disintegration or be torn into their separate components (magic items receive the appropriate bonus to their saves).

While in the mist, creatures suffer 4d4+4 points of damage per round and receive a saving throw vs. breath weapon for half damage. For example, chaos mist is cast on a fighter wearing chain mail. The fighter passes his saving throw with a 16, but only rolls a 14 for his armor and it fails. The caster rolls 18 for damage, so the fighter takes 9 points of damage and his chain mail is now torn into individual links and is useless.

The material components are two small metal links that are pulled apart during casting.

Notes: Restricted to Wild mages; rare spell.
