Unfettered Flight
(Alteration)
(Artifice)
Level: 8
Range: Touch
Components: V, S, M
Duration: 2 turns/level
Casting Time: 3
Area of Effect: Creature touched
Saving Throw: None
This spell is identical to the 3rd-level wizard spell fly. Although any purely physical objects that are in the way of this type of flight are deconstructed and then once the creature upon which unfettered flight is cast, the object is reconstructed as if nothing had occurred to the object. Furthermore, this spell will also allow the caster to pierce and fly through up to 6th-level magical barriers; although on the rounds before and after such a piercing of magical energies the caster cannot cast any spell higher than 3rd-level, because of the strain placed on this form of flight and his person. Thus a wall of force would not hinder the caster.
The material component for unfettered flight is a wing feather from any bird that is placed inside a tiny orb made of silver foil (worth at least 100 gp), which is then crushed and both components are consumed in the casting.
Notes: Uncommon to the transmuters; otherwise rare.
