Sea Of Fallen Dreams

Written: FEB 7, 2001

Much like a sea,
People wade in and out of love.
Although sometimes the currents,
Make it feel like mighty rivers;
For the intense waves,
Overcome and overwhelm you.
Drag you under with lust and abandon.

In the end, as a sea it still remains.
Once waded into love,
You can once again leave it.
Some love often remains in its stead,
For the connection formed lasts,
As an old memory of the past.

After leaving the sea of love,
One wanders wondering:
Will I find my way back to your shores?
Who is to know,
But for the trying.

When leaving the love sea.
A piece of you will remain;
That is why we will ever after feel
For the one we entered with.

This is why most lovers fear the rain.
As the heavenly droplets originate from the sea,
And with them they bring remorse, guilt and pain.

So now I feel I am rising from the depths,
And soon I must land again upon its shores.

The Sea of Fallen Dreams.
