Having heard of a cat with the ability to only show parts of its body while the rest of its body is elsewhere, Astroth came up with a version of this ability.
When this spell is cast, the caster may have certain parts of his or her body seen. The body parts are there while the rest of the body is out of phase, or not there. Thus if just the head and arms are seen, a sword swing to the legs would only go through air. The rest of the body is actually in the Astral Plane, waiting to be brought into the Prime Material Plane. Note that if the attacker is using a magical weapon, only the plus of the weapons will do the damage. Thus a weapon with a +2 would only do 2 points of damage, only if the attacker is trying to affect the body parts in the Astral. Also, only spells that can effect the Astral Plane would effect the body parts there at that time. The caster may cause all his or her body parts to shift into the Astral Plane for just 1 round, but the caster take 15 points of damage from the junt of the sudden shift. This acts as a blink spell in this instance. This is useful if you have a lightning bolt being cast at the caster.
