This spell allows the caster to cast spells without their requisite verbal or material components. All spells of 3rd level and lower are cast by silent act of will by the caster! Their speed is reduced to one, as only slight concentration is necessary to cast the spells. A strange side effect from this spell, however, is that the voice of the caster is totally negated. Thus no magical item(s) requiring a spoken command word may be used, nor can conversation with others occur by normal means until the spell's duration ends.
The material component for songless hymn is the voice of the spellcaster.
