This spell creates a huge pitch black wall, 30' heigh by 10' wide by 3' thick. It is immaterial, existing only as energy. Nonetheless, it is highly effective at stopping things from passing through. Any living being attempting to pass through the wall will be able to do so, but at a snails pace. Characters without nightvision are completely blind (-4 to hit, no damage bonus on attacks, -4 saving throw penalty, and -4 to AC). They can't see their hand in front of their face. Living creatures passing through the wall suffer a life drain of 6d6 hit points. The wall is hazardous to both friend and foe alike.

The material componet for this spell is a piece of dead Malaugrym flesh consumed at the time of casting.
