Sakkratars's Double Strike--Bladesinger (Wiz 2; Alteration, Enchantment, Illusion/Phantasm)

When cast, the double strike forms an arcane duplicate of a target weapon held by the caster, which hovers within an inch of the actual physical weapon to which it is linked. The glowing image does not interfere with the wielder's movements or grip on the actual weapon. This slightly translucent phantom weapon follow the exact same movements as the wielded weapon, allowing multiple attacks with only one strike. The double strike image adds light equal to a torch in their vicinity for the duration of the spell.
This mirror image variant spell duplicates the melee weapon touched by the caster when the spell takes effect. After casting, the true weapon can be handed to a wielder who can take advantage of its effects (or the caster can cast the spell while the weapon is held by its wielder as well). Each of the two weapons roll separately to hit, the real weapon always striking first. The image hits and affects targets as if it were a +2 silver weapon. The illusory weapon (whether a staff, sword, dagger, etc.) inflicts the same damage as the normal weapon of its type without any Strength or magical bonuses. If the true weapon leaves the hand of the wielder (only one other person can touch the enspelled weapon after the caster) the spell ends.
This spell is a lesser version of Sakkratars's triple strike that was developed by Wiquaestreal Evanero for use among the lesser experienced Bladsingers of Myth Drannor. (Wiquaestreal had travelled back to the Fall of Myth Drannor with Draven Lahar.) The Coronal Sakkratars, long considered one of Cormanthyr's most elegant swordsman and a great fighter-mage, created the triple strike on which this spell is based. Like the more powerful version, this spell was created merely to even the odds for Bladesingers and lone scouts, as the elven foes often single out lone elves for ambushes. Long held a secret this little known spell was only founded in the last 2 years of the war against the Army of Darkness and the heroes and allies of Myth Drannor (713-714 DR).
Notes: Known to Evanero family of the Arcane Age of the FORGOTTEN REALMS setting and few other Bladesingers of that time period. In the modern Realms only the True Blades, the last of the Evanero family and Twilight Thrillseeker know of this ancient spell.
