This spell is a specialized and potent curse magic that brings physical harm to the target fueled by the spite of the caster. This spell sends twin comets hurtling towards the target (the one whom typically causes the caster harm or misdeed).
The seeker comets can travel and successfully strike any creature on the same plane of existence that the caster was at the time of its casting. And will remain in “waiting” if the target leaves that particular plane of existence before the comets hit. However, the seeker comets spell will not last longer than 1 day per level of the caster, an it will only take about an hour for the comets to strike the target after he becomes aware of the false comet.
The first comet, the false comet, is totally brilliant with flames and gets the attention of its target by flashing or otherwise drawing the vision of its intended target to its incoming flight. The false comet enters from the horizon line and speeds towards the target at a speed that doubles every round until it strikes the location of the target at the time of this spells casting. Only the target of this spell can see the false comet, that which is apparent and streaking to strike him.
The second comet, the deadly comet, takes a direct path towards the target of this spell, and strikes the next round after the false comet hits home. This comet is invisible and thus it travels at its target unnoticed. When it strikes the doer of the deed that brought about this vengeful curse, it causes 90 points of damage; if this damage isn’t normally enough to kill the character, they must still make a system shock roll at to survive, and even then they will suffer at least four critical hits from the comet (mostly from its size and velocity). This deadly comet may be noticed by beings immune to illusions and those with exceptional senses like animals, some types of undead, and extra planar beings. If noticed this way, the DM can allow them a saving throw vs. spell with a -9 penalty to avoid the comet. Otherwise the target is struck for full effect without a save.
This strike typically obliterates its target, leaving a huge crater equal to 9 feet diameter, plus 1 foot per level of the caster above 18th-level. Furthermore, double the caster’s level is deducted from the target’s magic resistance, if any is possessed, as the raw hatred induced by the act of the casting of a seeker comet spell overcomes natural protections of the hated being.
Notes: Very rare spell.
