Spells of the SPELLSPHERE

Prismatic Skin
(Alteration, Conjuration/Summoning)

Level: 8
Range: 0
Components: V, S
Duration: 1 rd./level
Casting Time: 7
Area of Effect: The caster
Saving Throw: Special

This spell enables the wizard to conjure a prismatic skin that cloaks the caster and consists of the exact colors and magic that exists within the 8th-level wizard spell prismatic wall. Otherwise it acts as a prismatic wall, except that it is shielding layer of magic that is as tight to the caster as a second skin! Any creature with fewer than 8 Hit Dice that is within 20 feet of the skin and does not shield its vision is blinded for 2d4 rounds by the colors.
Each color in the skin has a special effect. Each color can also be negated by a specific magical effect, but the colors must be negated in the precise order of the spectrum. The prismatic wall table shows the seven colors of the skin, the order in which they appear, their effects on creatures trying to attack the spellcaster, and the magic needed to negate each color.
Furthermore the caster can attack with this spell, in which case it acts as a prismatic spray spell, except that only one color can ever affect an individual in any given round, and all saves vs. such attacks also receive a +2 bonus to the save. If an "8" is rolled, and would normally indicate that two colors affect the victim, instead the caster may pick which of these colors affects the person struck in this way.

Notes: Very rare spell.
