Nahal’s Bedlam Bolt*
(Evocation)
(Wild)
Level: 2
Range: 100 yds. + 2d20 yds.
Components: V, S
Duration: Special
Casting Time: 4
Area of Effect: 1 creature or object
Saving Throw: Special
This spell allows a wild mage to send a blast of chaotic energy to unerringly strike a single creature or object within range. Nahal created this spell to maximize a physical assault against his enemies, an offensive spell that in using pure wild magic can accomplish far more than a Melf's acid arrow, which is nearly the only good damaging spell of the 2nd-level that he came across. Once the caster completes the spell he must roll on the table below to see what effect his bolt has on its target. Having minor control over the spells outcome, the caster can add or subtract up to half his level from his roll on the chart below. The outcome of the bedlam bolt spell is as follows:
| Caster becomes the center of a half effect chaos mist spell (+2 to saves). | |
| Becomes 10’ radius fireball, causing 1d4 damage per level (Max. 10d4). | |
| A weapon +1 made of force appears in the target’s hand (one it can use). | |
| Target affected by a choke spell for 2d4 rounds. | |
| Target affected by a bless spell. | |
| An automatically hitting chromatic orb strikes the target. | |
| Caster affected by a reverse invisibility. | |
| Target is affected by an insatiable thirst spell. | |
| A huge snowball strikes caster, 2 damage (save or be stunned 1 round). | |
| A glowing mace hits the target for 2 points of damage per level of the caster. | |
| Target hasted for 2d4 rounds (only ages half a year). | |
| 5 Melf's minute meteors shoot at the target (a roll to hit for each). |
Notes: Restricted to wild mages; rare spell.
