Spells of the SPELLSPHERE

Kaelib's Drought
(Alteration)
(Alchemy)

Level: 3
Range: Touch
Components: V, S, M
Duration: Permanent
Casting Time: 1 rd.
Area of Effect: 1 tankard
Saving Throw: None

This spell transforms both fire and water into a potent liquor twice as enduring and far less, and therefore more enjoyable, intoxicating as Dwarven Spirits. This mage has been seeking out the famed drunk and transmuter of great renown, Arkon Zutat. And in exchange for this mighty barroom concoction, he wishes to become the archmage’s next apprentice!
Funny as it is, Kaelib does not even drink himself, yet he is one of the best and most cunning bartenders in the Realms to date. So why not better himself and grow in power under the most renowned, and drunkest, archmage of the Realms?
This potent alcohol causes drunkenness at half the volume that is typical strong ale, but it also lasts for a full 24 hours per drought (roughly a large and full tankard).
The material component for this spell is a drop of Dwarven Spirits, which is dropped into water and stirred around with the wizard’s forefinger, and then lit on fire.

Notes: Rare spell.
