Are you home alone a friend once asked me;
Such a simple, innocuous question,
But laced with far too much complexity
That it burdens me past comprehension.
No matter how many people with which
Surround me, too alone I still remain.
Loneliness lay here, a wound without stitch,
Unquenched, searching for love to replace pain.
Can your caring eyes promise me this change?
For this heart quivers in haste to be free,
And I seek a mere promise into change,
A union of your tender lips to me.
Rescue me beauty, let me be your own,
Leave me not here sad, for I am alone.
