By using this spell, a priest calls on the power of his/her deity to destroy enemies of his/her cause on the prime material plane. The casting begins at the first segment of the round, and must be declared as being cast before initiative is rolled.
The casting of this spell involves the priest invoking his deity to smite down his enemies; this prayer cannot be broken. Therefore, the priest cannot move, speak, or even hear what is going on around him. Once the spell is granted, the priest must roll a system shock check at -25% to see if his body can handle the power of the spell. If System Shock fails, the spell does not go off. If system shock fails, or if the spell is completed, the priest must roll a Constitution check at -2, or pass out for 1d4 turns. If the system shock is successful, the following applies:
This spell actually beseeches the priest's deity to take action on the Prime Material Plane against enemies of the cause. If the spell is granted, the priest is a channel to the deities power, thus his entire life force becomes the weapon. (For example, damage per level of caster, range per level of caster, healing per level of caster.) However, this spell comes at a price; no mortal, no matter how strong in his/her faith, can handle the power given to a deity. Thus all checks must be made.
The reverse of this spell is called unholy bane, and range and stuff applies as above, but damage/healing is reversed.
Notes: Quest spells are rarely granted to priest except during the most dire or important events.
