Harpy

Written: OCT 9, 2003

Oh tear asunder my heart,
Blessed beautiful Sirens.
Drag me kicking & screaming
Into your cooling Songs.

Chilled and ever more passive,
Like the anger diminishing in me.
For I know too well
What it is you aim to do.

But having viewed your splendor,
The calmly collecting callousness,
One can only hope
For your utter & complete adoration.

Drape me in the finest silken lies,
Clothe me head-to-toe in misunderstanding.
Ah, cherished gift come to me,
Beguile me with your sweet maliciousness.

Ripping me gently in hasty grace,
Gore spattered chunks of my caring decorate
A smiling marred finery irresistible,
An unforgiving luminescence.

Rake at my will, with glistening enamel talons;
Sheer me down & build me back up;
Fear not the missing pieces,
For I’ve been broken before.

Falling to pieces at the merest
Bat of your oh-so-plentiful lashes;
Like a giddy leper shambling,
To innocently stupid to see his folly.

Seek out me tenderly:
My passions unbridled,
My downfall imminent,
My coveted Woman.
