This spell allows the caster to solidify a deal, no matter how corrupt, with the shake or clasp of the hand and/or arm; which is typical when in agreement in the business community in most of the Realms. This spell is much like both charm person and suggestion in that it renders the victim of the spell friendly towards the caster and forces a deal agreement with them, unless they successfully save vs. spell with a -2 penalty. If this save is made, then nothing occurs, although the victim of the spell will now feel a sense of uneasiness around the caster.
If the saving throw fails, the victim totally agrees with the caster and seals the deal all with a handshake or clasp of hands and/or arms!
The material components for Gregory's political schemes is a bribe of no less than 100 gp per social class and/or level of the victim and a written contract which must be signed by the spell victim within 3 turns after the spell takes effect. If this bribe is within half of the required amount the victim does not suffer the negative to his save; if it is below half of the required amount for a bribe, the victim gains a +2 to his saving throw instead of the penalty of -2. Also, if the contract is not signed by the victim of this spell within the required time limit, it is only a verbal contract and may then be more easily broken (depending on witnesses and so forth, such consequences are left up to the DM).
