Foul Heart

Written: AUG 12, 2003

The beating sad & shallow,
Entering that terrible rhythm.
Showing peaceful sadness,
Flashing through veins,
Glacial in cleansing floods.
Restorative of mind & body.
As for the soul,
Only He can know.
Perhaps it will be divined in time.
For that is all we really have,
Isn’t it; the never forever future.
Present passing us by,
As our thoughts & deeds pass into past.
Even as the lunacy of the coming
Leads us to go to ground.
Solidifying in my need & rest.
Protective even Mother Earth holds us
So that I may embrace you all in turn.
A prodigy of life am I,
Show us all the validity,
The worth & wealth of our “kin.”
Knowledge that death steals forlorn.
Mourn for me not my love,
But live life as you’ll not have it long.
For if crossing my path you do,
Your accomplishments may cease,
Our hearts merging in ecstasy,
And your life flowing within me for all eternity.
