Drift Disk — Drow
(Alteration, Evocation, Illusion)
(Force)
Level: 2
Range: 20 yds.
Components: V, S, M
Duration: 1d4 turns + 1 turn/level
Casting Time: 4
Area of Effect: 6-ft. diameter disk
Saving Throw: None
This spell creates a slightly concave, circular plane of force known as a drift disk. The disk is 6 feet in diameter, holds up to 100 pounds/caster level, and always remains level. The disk can magically fly both vertically and horizontally at a movement rate of 12 (½ if ascending and twice that if descending) with a maneuverability class of B. The disk is both clear and colorless allowing all being to see through it. It can also be made depicting any symbol the caster has ever seen in any color the caster wishes (this causes onlookers to see the spell recipients flying about on a large glowing symbol).
The duration variable is secretly rolled by the DM, and kept secret from the caster. This spell can be canceled at any time before its duration runs out by the caster.
The material component for this spell is a small faerie fired adamantite coin or disk.
Notes: Restricted to the drow; rare.
