Bracelet of Rings

XP Value: 7,000 GP Value: 40,000

The mithral and adamantite bracelet of rings looks like a small elven hand encircling the wearer's upper arm. One magical ring can be placed on each finger of the hand (including the thumb, for a total of five rings), each such ring shrinks onto the appropriate finger (one per finger) and seems to become a part of the hands makeup, otherwise not looking any different from a normal unexceptional ring on the hand.

A being using this item is instantly aware of any magical powers of the rings worn by the hand. However to all others viewing the item, even with detect magic, only the bracelt radiates magic (Alteration); cloaking the individual magics of the rings it contains.

The wearer can exercise one voluntary power of each ring per round (to a maximum of one power for every three levels of experience or Hit Dice, rounding down, but never below a minimum of one power) and any number of involuntary powers. (A ring of feather falling protects its user with an automatic or involuntary power, much like a ring of protection and its continuous protective ability; but a spark shower from a ring of shooting stars can be called forth only by the will of the wearer and is therefore a voluntary power.) The bracelet's magic overrides the normal prohibition on using three or more rings (the bracelet wearer can also directly wear and use up to two magical rings at the same time as using the bracelet).

The fingers of the bracelet can be damaged to remove the rings, but it is very hard and difficult to damage, having an AC of -7 and only after dealing a finger 66 points of damage can its ring can be forcibly removed or cut away in battle; the bracelet wearer can remove a ring at will, by speaking a secret word of release.

Furthermore, this great work of the Art can allow the wearer to identify any magical item or spell (including magical traps) without activating or triggering them. When touching a being, it can identify the presence and properties of any enchantments on the being. The bracelet can glow with eerie, faintly glowing faerie fire, which also makes it appear to be a griffon claw grasping the wearer's arm tight.
