Bit Off More Than I Could Chew

Written: NOV 8, 2002

To look at you,
I wonder,
Did I mistake myself and
Bite of more than I could chew?

You are far too lovely,
And a bit too feisty,
Yet I love that about you;
But was I rushing into the collapse?

You consume me with a smile,
And destroy me with a glare.
Not knowing if I am in over my head,
What am I to do?

Can I expect you to fall for me,
When so many others vie for your graces.
Would…could you love me,
With so much affection from others sent to you?

I sit here stubborn and idle,
Lost in thoughts of wanting only you.
But can I win over the others in game,
Or have I Bit Off More Than I Can Chew?
