Arkon's Improved Grotesque Girth
(Alteration)
Level: 5
Range: 30 yds. + 2 yds./level
Components: V, S, M
Duration: 1 rd./level
Casting Time: 5
Area of Effect: One creature
Saving Throw: Neg.
This spell increases the overall weight of the target creature to grotesque proportions. This adds 200 pounds/level of the caster to the chosen being. This tremendous weight increase causes the victim to make a successful System Shock roll with a penalty equal to the caster's level. If this roll fails the victim dies instantly, as his heart explodes. The victim also takes a base 1 points of damage/level of the caster. If the victim is wearing any type of armor he suffers double the normal damage on the first round. Damage is taken for 1 round for every 3 level the caster has achieved.
Also because of the enormous increase in body weight, the target creature is rendered immune to all blunt weapons and takes only 1 point of damage form piercing weapons. Furthermore, the victim's Dexterity is halved, if this results in an Armor Class penalty due to a poor Dexterity, this penalty is doubled for the duration of this spell. The victim becomes too heavy to move and suffers double the penalties associated with being encumbered.
Multiple girth and improved girth spells are cumulative, but be forewarned, that this creates a very messy battlefield. Other situational effects, such as a creature being girthed in a space too small to contain its new size and weight are up to the Dungeon Master.
The material component of improved girth is half a pound of fat or lard.
Notes: Known only to the Transmuter Arkon Zutat of the FORGOTTEN REALMS setting.
