These magical shoulder plates appear to be lightweight versions of armor similarly seen in plate mail; however, they do not grant an AC bonus, nor are they considered armor of any sort. Upon completing a mind altering adventure behind the magic mirror into a totally strange and alien land, Arkon was gifted these plates as reward.
The shoulder plates of charisma, like their name states, grants the wearer a +4 bonus to their Charisma score (as well as raising their Comeliness by 4 points as well, if this ability score is also used). Furthermore, once they were first put on they grant the wearer’s finest desire. Thus in response to this power Arkon wishes to cast his magic faster.
From the potent magics with in the shoulder plates, the wearer can now cast spells of 1st- to 5th-level at will (like an avatar), spells of 6th- to 7th-level at a casting time of 1, 8th-level spells at a casting time of 2, and 9th-level spells at a casting time of 3.
