For you my dearest love I thee present
This blood red, loving red rose that is due.
Cherish it well to heart, while I pursue
To win your heart, in that I’ll not relent.
I will come for you gently with night’s kiss,
Not fallen from a bough anew, in haze;
Although I do seem gone, and things amiss,
I lie frozen under powerful gaze.
Still becomes my body and heart as one,
To move upon your every small whim,
To beat only when to me your eye goes.
Eyes wide to encapsulate you as one,
Stock still I remain looking, in love’s brim,
Flushed crimson, for you, I become a rose.
