Tifa and Cloud were childhood friends in Nibelheim, were separated when Cloud left to join SOLDIER. When her parents died, Tifa also left Nibelheim and went to Midgar. Soon after opening her own bar, Tifa's Seventh Heaven, she met Barret and joined AVALANCHE. She has made it her mission to ensure Clouds stay with them, even after the mission is done.
Tifa ia fighter at heart, she ma not have the strongest attacks in the world, but her limit break is quite the powerful attack. Instead of havng one limit, her limit break is divided into 7, each time she gets a new one, it adds to a big slot machine, when she has all of them, the results can be quite devastating to the oponent. She sould always be in the front lines, and not loaded with materia.
