Cool Stuff

Da-chao Fire Cave

There's a small cave carved into the side of Da-Chao in Wutai. The fires inside block anyone from reaching the cave, but they can be put out with the right item. During the raid on Shinra's Underwater Reactor, Cloud can pick up the "Laviathan Scales" from a treasure chest on the dock. The scales hold Laviathan's power of water and will put out any flame they come in contact with. Use the "Laviathan Scales" on all the fires in the Da-chao cave to find the "Oritsuru" for Yuffie and the "Steal as Well" materia.

Master Materia

If you master all the materia in a single group, revisit Bugenhagen's Planetarium and examine the huge materia that matches the caterogy you've mastered. Doing so will get you the master materia for that group. Master Materia basically equips you with all - or almost all - of the spells, summons, commmands or effects from that group. For instance, the master summon materia equips you with every summon spell and enables you to use each of them an unlimited number of times, providing that you have the MP to do so.

Kalm Traveler

Check the top floor of the right most building in Kalm. There you'll find a man who's completley content with th world. However, once meteor is summonedand the WEAPONS are attacking, the man will become discontented. At his time he'll begin searching for three items: the Guide Book, Earth Harp and the Desert Rose. Bringing him anyone of these items will prompt him to reward the party.
The Guide Book is located in the Underwater Reactor, but ti's not in a treasure chest. You'll have to morph an enemy called the Ghost Ship to pick up the item. It can usually be found in the tunnelalong the ocean floor. Take the item back to the traveler and he'll give you the "Underwater" Materia. This materia eliminates the 20 minute time period when fighting Emerald WEAPON.
The Earth Harp and Desert Rose are prizes for beating the new weapons. You'll receive the Earth Harp for beating the Emerald WEAPON. If you can beat Ruby WEAPON, you'll get the Desert Rose. Take the Earth Harp back to the travelerand he'll give you the Master Summon, Magic and Command materia. In exchange for the Desert Rose, he'll give you a Gold Chocobo.

Gil Exchange

Outside the Gold Saucer's entrance, a man who can exchange gil for GP at a rate of 1 to 100will sometimes appear at the back of the Ropeway Station. He's not always there but if you go in and out of the Gold Saucer several times he should appear. It may take a while so be patient.

Turtle's Paradise Flyers

Turtle's Paradise in Wutai is having a special contest. They've posted 6 flyers around the planet each with an advertisement for Turtle's Paradise. The restaurant owner is offering a prize to anyone who can locate all 6 flyers. So where do you look?

Flyer#1

The first flyer is in the heart of the Sector 5 slums. Look inside the housr on the east side of town. You'll find the flyer tacted up in the boy's room upstairs.

Flyer#2

This is a tough one you MUST get it on one of your two trips to the Shinra headquarters. If you don't you can't win the contest. The flyer is stuck to the bulletin boared at the back of the lobby's first level.

Flyer#3

Check out the Ghost Hotel at the Gold Saucerto find the third flyer. It's insidethe hotel's lobby next to the Item Shop entrance.

Flyer#4

The fourth flyer is tacked up at the Tiger Lily Arms shop in Cosmo Canyon. The shop is along the path that leads to Bugenhagen's house.

Flyer#5

Go to the inn at Cosmo Canyon and check out the wall next to the innkeepers desk.

Flyer#6

This one's easy it's actually right next to Turtle's Paradise in Yuffie's basement. Check out the banner on the wall outside the trap room.

Prize: 1 Power source, 1 Luck source, 1 Mind source, 1 Magic source, 1 Guard source, 1 Speed source and a megalixer.

All Lucky 7's

Any character whose HP are rediced to 7777after an attack gets the All Lucky 7's effect. The character goes into a mad rage and begin's attacking the enemy non-stop for 7777points of damage each time.
To get this you must first get your HP over 7777. This means only high level characters, or character's equipped with lots of HP plus materias, can get the All Lucky 7's effect. You'll also need a lot luck since someone has to knock a character's HP down to exactly 7777. Also after any battle where a character's HP is 7777, that character's HP will be reduced to 1. So you can't carry the All Lucky 7's effect to another battle.

Gi Nattak

This isn't really as cool as those other things it's just a VERY simple way to beat the Gi Nattak: Use an X-Potion on him and he'll automatically die. There's an X-potion outside of the cave door right before him.
