A poem I wrote based slightly on the character of Jim (leoanrdo DiCaprio)in Basketball Diaries:
New york, New York
Growing up on the mean streets of New York
The young man roams around
Attending his school periodically
Deciding to spend most of his time away
From the school curriculum
But decides to hang around with his buddies
On the New York Streets
He gets together with his basketball teammates
Plays a little one-on-one
of course betting money on these games
To show that he is really into playing
After the games, goes to a popular hangout
Orders 10 hamburgers at McDonald's
But runs off with the loot without paying
Cops come chasing, but his young feet are too fast
Sitting in Central park
He enjoys his hamburgers
But realizes that he forgot the ketchup
But eats 'em anyways
