Summary: The children of Voyager celebrate Easter Rabbits and Eggs by Lanna 13 Eight year old Telia Rose Paris woke up slowly and excitedly. Today was Easter and something called the Easter bunny was supposed to have stopped by in the night. Also today all the children on Voyager were going on an Easter Egg hunt, last night they had all gotten together in the mess hall and colored a ton of human chicken eggs. Their must have been 50 eggs, but having 20 children on board they needed a lot of eggs. Telia slipped out of bed and put on her bunny slippers. She glanced at the clock in her room and saw that it was still very early. Her dad Tom Paris would be at work, but her mom B’Elanna Torres would still be sound asleep, she was on maternity leave, very pregnant with her sister who was going to be named Amber. She walked out of the door slowly, the room was dark and she had to be very careful not to bump into the furniture. On the table was large item. Telia was curious. She moved over to where the table was, felt around for the chair. She found it. She pulled the large chair out with a little effort. Once it was out she put her leg up on it and then her other. She climbed up and stood on the chair. In front of her was a giant basket. She decided to explore some more. She stuck her hand into it and it rustled. She held her breath, hoping that the rustling hadn’t waken up her mother. She moved her hand and it rustled again. This time their was a sound of footsteps and the lights popped on. Her head shot around to see her mother leaning on the door frame. Hand on top of her buildging stomach. “good morning Telia” she said with a smile “oops” Telia said “I didn’t mean to wake you up” she said “it’s OK, what’s in the basket” she asked. Telia shrugged her shoulders “I don’t know” “well look” Telia smiled and stood on her tippy toes looking into the basket “wow, that’s a lot of candy” she said, B’Elanna smiled “and it’s all for you, but don’t eat it all today, it will make your stomachs sick” Telia nodded vigorously, taking her hand and pulling out a Snickers bar. She climbed off the chair and ran over to her favourite spot on the couch, she pulled off the wrapping and eagerly started to devour the candy bar. She stared at her basket and for the first time noticed that their was a stuffed rabbit connected to it. B’Elanna noticed where her daughters eyes had wandered to, walked over to the basket and pulled off the rabbit. Telia smiled happily, chocolate all over her lips. B’Elanna handed her the rabbit and Telia hugged it close to her. B’Elanna walked over to the replicator and replicated her daughter a glass of cow milk, figuring if she was going to eat candy for breakfast she might as well have something healthy to drink. She handed the glass to Telia “drink your milk for Mom O.K.” “O.K.” Telia downed the glass in five seconds, B’Elanna stared at her in shock “you have been spending way to much time with your father” she said, plopping down next to Telia after taking fun size pack of MnMs from the basket. She tore open the top and popped one into her mouth “Momma those are mine” Telia said “can’t Amber have an Easter also?” she asked “well if it’s for Amber O.K. she said, B’Elanna started to tickle her “O.K. O.K.” Telia said. B’Elanna laughed “go get dressed, you’ll miss the egg hunt if you don’t. Telia jumped up and ran into her room. She opened her closet and pulled out a jumper dress that had spagetti straps, a tiny white bodice that had a green chekered flower in the center and a green checkerd skirt that was about and inch above her knee, a white shirt and a pair of white tights. She put them on and bounced into the living room where her mother was. The children, none of them older than eight, with the exeption of Naomi, all chatted about one thing or another. B’Elanna walked in the door Telia’s hand in hers. Telia broke free and ran to her friends Ida and Chelsey, they were twins. All the children were present so Neelix decided to get their attention. He picked up a cup and spoon and banged them together, the mess hall quieted. “since all of you are here we will begin, the eggs are hidden anywhere on the ship, with the exeption of the jefferys tubes and personal quarters, you must have a buddy with you at all times and your comm badges on. The two that find the most get this rabbit plush chair” he said, holding up a Rabbit chair. The kids all started to pair off and Telia walked uo to Neelix “is it all right if their is three in my group?” she asked “who do you mean?” “well I want to be with Ida and Chelsey” “since they are sisters I suppose it works out” “Thanks uncle Neelix” “any time” Telia walked over to her friends and nodded her head. “on your mark get set go” Neelix said and the children all bustled out of the mess hall. “Where do you want to go?” asked Ida “the bridge,” Telia and Chelsey answered at the same time and they waited for the turbolift to come along with three other children. They climbed on and ordered their destination. The others ordered theirs. When the lift stopped the all walked off onto the bridge. The captain turned to see who had just walked onto the bridge and did a double take when she saw three children step off. Harry smiled at seven warning her that her daughters were coming to her station to see if their was and egg near it. “Hi mommy” Ida said crawling under the station, under it was a green egg. She placed it in her basket. “bye mommy” she said walking to another area. Telia walked over to her dads station “daddy have you seen an egg anywhere around here?” she asked sweetly “what kind of egg?” he asked playing a game with her, “maybe hat pink one sitting right in front of the veiw screen” she said spotting the egg. Tom smiled “oh that kind of egg, nope can’t say Ive seen one” she put her hand on her hips looking like a miniature B’Elanna with long hair. She dropped the egg in her basket. She searched the bridge a little more and found no more eggs. Chelsey didn’t have one. “Bye!” she called out, climbing onto the turbo lift with her friends. Their next stop was engineering. Telia smiled and walked up to Joe Carey “My momma says that her engines best be in one piece when she gets back”, Joe laughed. In engineering four kids were already searching. One of them had two eggs in her basket and the others had none. But just then the boy found a yellow one. The search went on for another hour. Telia and the twins finding egg after egg. By the end they had 20 eggs all together. “Now the winners appear to be Telia and The Kim twins” Neelix announced. “They have 20 eggs” Telia smiled and walked up to Neelix, Ida and Chelsey at her heals. They picked up their rabbit chairs and she walked over to her mom. “Help me carry this” she said to her mom. B’Elanna smiled and picked the rabbit up by it’s ears. The two of them carried it to their quarters and set it on the ground in front of her bed. Telia then rushed out of her room and grabbed another candybar out of her basket. This one was a milkyway egg. She peeled off the wrapper and started to eat. Tom walked into the quarters and smiled. Her rushed over to Telia and picked her up twirling her around. “I herd someone creamed the others during the egg hunt” he said, she smiled and nodded as he put her down on the couch. B’Elanna came out of the room holding her stomach. “Tom it’s time” she said “time for.. oh my gosh, Telia it’s time to go visit your friends at uncle Harry’s house” he said “but I just saw them” “well your going to see them again” he picked her up and B’Elanna followed. Harry’s quarters were on the way to sickbay so that helped. Harry opened the door and was very suprised when Tom handed Telia to him and said to watch her and then took off. “B’Elanna what us wrong this time” The doctor said not seeing that B’Elanna was in labor “It’s time” she stated simply, the doctor led her over to a bio bed and she lay down. “you won’t be having the baby for another hour at the least” B’Elanna’s eyes became wide “what do you mean another hour” “I mean another hour” she groaned as a contraction hit, Tom smoothed some of the hair that had fallen into her eyes away. He kissed her forehead and held onto her hand. “Don’t worry B’Elanna” “Don’t worry, do you know how much this hurts” she said “no, but I would willingly take your place” she seemed to calm down after he said that. She kept a grip on her hand and helped her when a contraction hit. This went on for another hour and a half until she was fully dilated. “push” the doctor yelled “I’m tired of pushing, why don’t you push once in a while” The doctor groaned, he was used to this because he had gotten it from every mother giving birth and that was 20 children. “Come on B’Ella, I am sure it will be over soon” she glared at him “you would be talking to, she is worse than Telia, you know this is all your fault, you are the one who got me pregnant, you got me pregnant to torture me” she pushed one last time and the baby came out. All thoughts vanished from B’Elanna’s mind exept that she had another daughter. Tom went and washed their daughter off and put her in a tiny pair of Jammies. He handed her to B’Elanna and tears came to her eyes, she let them fall. “Hello their, hey little one” she said. “Hey Amber Elizabeth Paris how are you” she smiled at Tom, “she is beautiful” he said, B’Elanna nodded. Tom tapped his comm badge and contacted Captain Janeway “Captain I would like to announce the birth of Amber Elizabeth Paris” “Thank You for telling us, Congratulations” and she cut the link. At that time Harry walked in the door Telia and the twins at his heals. Tom and B’Elanna introduced the newest member of their family. The Telia curled up next to her mother to take a nap. B’Elanna who was very tired figured it was a good idea, mother and daughters fell asleep together, and Tom sat and watched thinking what a wonderful Easter gift he had gotten.
