If you are fairly new to the internet, or you just aren't sure what
you need to make your Cyber experience more enjoyable, here are some direct links to a few of my favorite programs in addition to the ones above.
Some are necessary, some are just for fun. All of them are very user friendly and easy to understand. I am in Windows95 format, so
I don't know about anything else. Sorry. Either way, see what you think and as always, enjoy!
First you will need "Winzip".This is a file compression/decompression program that is easy to work with and
very versatile. You will need it to "unzip" files you download from the internet.
Next I recommend you download "Getright". This is a very handy download manager with resume/timer capabilities.
If you get disconnected from the net, then you can pick up your D-load where you left off.
It also gives you multiple download ability, together or at timed intervals. This one is really nice to have!
If you are into gaming and high resolution programs, then you will need to download "DirectX 5". This is a video
driver that is needed in order to run some of today's better games. After downloading, follow instructions carefully during installation or problems could occur. Nevertheless,
you will need to have it.
Another very handy program I discovered is called "Thumbs Plus32". This is an excellent
image manager, with slideshow and file convert capabilities. It makes thumbnails out of all your images and stores them in a convenient, easy to use management system.
This one is also very easy and user friendly. Check it out!
All of these programs I've listed, and many more useful PC tools, can also be found in the utilities section at
(These are shareware or freeware programs)
