Under Consruction

I have 8 MP3 files of original songs from my CD entitled God Is Coming, available right now. I wrote and performed all the music and lyrics and I own the rights to them as well. So feel free to distribute the songs, but they are not for reproduction without my consent.

They are mp3 files that are zipped up, so you will need Winzip to unzip them, and Winamp or another mpeg player to listen to them. Follow the links below to download these programs for free, if you don't have them already.

Plus, I have also included 3 bonus tracks from another CD that I co-produced with my good friend, Todd Caplener. That project is called "Todd Caplener, Artifacts in the Sand". This was a school project that was Todd's Master's Thesis, and he was kind enough to let me participate in the writing and performing of the original material on this CD. One of these tracks was recorded in a 24 track college music studio, using all the latest equipment. The other track was recorded in Todd's bedroom, which at that time was actually an 8 track digital studio, with a bed! Both songs were engineered and mixed by Todd Caplener.

These songs were inspired by and are dedicated to the life, the teachings and the Sacrifice of a great Prophet, who is also a Priest and a King!

He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.

The first one is about 1 meg and is entitled "Redeemed". I used 4 stereo tracks with different microphone placements for a "true stereo" effect. I used a harmonica, a latin percussion shaker, a tambourine, and a vocal track. This little intro is just a short testimony that pretty much sums it all up for me!

The next song I have is one of my favorites on the CD! It is entitled "Vision". This song is about 5 minutes long, therefore it is also about 5 megs. But I believe it is worth the download time. (Then again, I wrote the song). This is an acoustic oriented tune with drums(drum machine),bass, a couple of guitar tracks, and 3 vocal overlays. as you can tell, I have only 8 tracks to work with at this point, but its better than 4! I had a friend, Will Hyres, sing on 1 vocal track on this tune to give it a nice blend.

This song was inspired by a vision I had in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, a place called Butterfly Valley. This is a magical little oasis that has many plants and flower species that grow no where else on earth. Here is where I felt the presence of a Beautiful, Loving, Inspiring Entity who seemed to encompass time itself. The name of this Being is Jah`awah. Jah is the Creator and Father/Mother of every living thing that has ever existed. This song is about that dream I had on a cool September evening in 1986.

This tune is a little more upbeat and rockin`. I used a basic 12 bar blues chord pattern, with a little twist, I put a funky rhyming vocal rap over it, with some screaming guitar moments. It's a pretty funky blend, but I try not to limit my musical flow to one specific genre. This song is called "One Step Behind", and is basically about the 1/2 or so of society who just don't seem to grasp the consequences of the actions they are taking right now. I pray one day we will all understand! This one is about 3.5 megs.

This one is called Holy One, and the title says it all. It's got drums, bass, 2 guitar tracks, piano, and 2 vocal tracks. Once again I had Will Hyres add his vocal tones to this one. It is a worship and praise type song that just seemed to come together one day. This one is about 4 minutes, 3.8megs.

The next tune I have for you is a guitar instrumental I call "Kozmik Luv Vyb". I utilized 5 tracks for guitar, with drums, stereo of course, as on all the songs, and a bass line. I used my own technique of blending tones and layering strange chord progressions, while soloing over most of the entire piece. I don't read theory or have any schooling, so my scales are very original and kinda strange sometimes, but it all fits together in an interesting way. This one is about 3.6megs.
