Part One

He looked up from his wounded arm. What had he been thinking? He should not have gone out that night, and he had known it. Even the glow of the moon was eerie. But there was something about the old wizard that captivated him. along with the evil, there was mystery, and that intrigued the young man. The old wizard just stood there and stared at him. The light in his hand had a mezmerizing glow about it. He tried to tear his eyes away from it, but he couldn't. He felt as if he were losing himself, melting into the glow. It seemed to beckon to him, call his name. think of other things, he tried to tell himself, don't do this. If only he could bring his eyes away, if only... no, he couldn't. That was how it was planned. He silently said goodbye to the world he knew, and lost himself into the evil.

Part Two
When he awoke later that night he was alone on the hill. As he lifted his head off the ground he could see the body of the wizard lying only a few feet away. Without knowing why, he suddenly knew that the wizard was dead..and that he had a new knowledge deep inside him. He was a wizard, all the old wizards magic and knowledge was now inside of him. As he looked around he knew what he must do. He went over to the wizard and picked up his ball, as he touched it the ball began to glow, a soft warm glow. Then he rose and began his long journey to the Kingdom of Calwa. There he must meet the King and offer his services. That is where the old wizard was from..and he must go and take his place. It was his destiny.
Part Three
The journey was long and hard. The young wizard was struggling, not yet knowing how to use the power, that was now his. He was close to the kingdom, he could feel it, but, as he lay a top a large hill he felt weak, cold, and extremly hungry. It was as if he was split in two, one half urging him to go on and fufill his destiny. Then there was the section of him saying, just give up, for you'll never make it. He was about to give in to this side of himself, when a figure stepped in front of him.
Part Four
As the figure approached the young wizard realized that he should know this person...the name Aeron came to mind. "Aeron?" the young wizard said. "Yes,"a deep voice responed."I am here to escort you to the castle. A new wizard is very vulnerable and I am here to protect you." "Oh, well I am Errdin." said the young wizard. "No, your name was Errdin, you are now Falen the wise. This is the name you were given by your globe carrier." Then Aeron turned and began to walk away. "Come now..it is time to begin this long journey."he said. Together they walked until the sun was low in the sky and Falen was almost asleep on his feet. "We will rest here for the time." said Aeron. Falen sat down and rested his back on a tree. Before Areon had gathered enough wood for the fore Falen was fast asleep. In his dreams there were ghosty figures hoovering and beckoning him to join them."Join us..... our power is strong.... go east not west..... come to us Falen...join us." They chanted. "No,"he thought"I cannot give in." He begged them to stop tormenting him, soon their chanting was a roar, and they got louder and louder. "No!"he screamed. "It is alright," the deep voice of Aeron said. As he opened his eyes he could see his protector looking down at him with a look of concern. "Are you all right now?"Aeron asked. "Yes, I think so." said Falen "What were they?" "Those are the evil ones. The wizards who have gone bad, they crave the power of a new wizard. Their evil destoryed them, so they can only exist in your mind. The only way they get power is through a new wizard. I will help you through these first weeks..and they will soon learn they cannot have your power." The rest of the night was the same, visions of the evil ones haunted him all night and every time they came Areon was there to help him through it. By morning Falen was exhausted and looked unhappily at the long road that he must walk with his protector. The only fortunate thing was that the ghostly figures were becoming fainter, and quieter. By noon they decided to stop for a bit and have a bit of salted meat from Aerons bag. Half way through the meal Falen grabbed his head in pain, a thousand voices were all screaming and shouting in his head, it was a victory shout. "We don't need you young Falen..we have another....beware..beware," they heckled. "Oh no," said Aeron, "you don't need to tell me, I know. They have their power, they have their wizard." "Yes,"said Falen," and they want me. Dead or alive." "Our preperation must be escalated now...we must fight this new wizard. His protector must be dead. We will go the cave of time and see who this new wizard is..and where we can find him." "Why would the protecor be dead Areon? Do you die if you fail? "No, we must kill the young wizards that go to the evil ones...or they kill us." In only a few minutes both men were back on the road..but this time going twords the cave of time. One thinking of who the young wizard was who turned evil, and the other wondering if he would have been killed by his protector if he had listened to the voices.
Part Five
The journey to the cave of time was long and hard.Falen was not used to this, but he hoped he would soon grow immune to the feeling of fatigue. "In about an hours walk we will come to the cave of time," said Areon, "be on guard the entire time. It will be very hard for you. The Evil ones will swarm you, attack you. DO NOT give in Falen." This frightend Falen immensly, but he continued on. He wondered how this wizard could have given in and killed his protecter. Later, he would understand the choice of the other wizard better. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * ** * * * * * * * * * * **** * * * * * * * * * * * * * * "Prepare yourself boy, for we are going in." said Areon. Falen braced himself, and followed Areon in. As soon as he crossed the threshold, he felt a jolt go right through him. There was fear, power, evil, and everything man could want and at the same time hate altogether. Falen tried to push the evil away, and concentrate on better things, like the life he would live once he got to his new kingdom. "Shhhh" Areon said as Falen started to say something "They'll sence you." But it was to late the voices started calling him, beckoning him, bribing him in the darkness.. He fought to push them all away. They started to grow stronger and stronger. Areon had to cup a hand over Falens mouth to keep in the scream that was escaping.
