The Paka Cave, really a large overhanging rock by a swift-flowing rocky stream, is situated near here on a slight detour to the left of the main trail. This 'cave' was where the first explorers used to spend the night before climbing to the summit the next day. The large red-breasted MOUNTAlN BLACKBlRD (Turdus poliocep-halus) is seen most frequently here and higher up at Panar Laban. Though it does occur at lower altitudes also. |
