TITANIC

Anyway, onto Titanic. A film which has wowed many with it's dazzling effects and love story. Well actually I quite enjoyed Titanic and thought it of a super film. It's over 3 hours but it doesn't seem like that. I feel Titanic is not the best of love stories, but the action in the film is brilliant. If made me realize how many people died and that it could have been prevented. To see all of the people screaming and shouting trying to get out was quite sad. I don't think many people thought about the actual things that went on while the boat sank. Quite amazing. I also enjoyed the action side which was blendid in quite well. DiCaprio is cool in this film and leads the line brilliantly. Everytime he was around there was a tendency to feel something funny, exciting or stupid was going to happen. The love story isn't as strong as some. Many cried over it but I thought it was rather weak. Maybe DiCaprio dies suddenly, or too quickly. Soon as she wakes he's dead.

Mr. Holland's Opus.
Starring: Richard Dreyfuss, Glenne Headly, Jay Thomas, and Olympia Dukakis.
Mr. Holland's Opus is about Glenn Holland (Richard Dreyfuss), a musician, who has to get a teaching job at a local high school to make ends meet. His dream is to compose the greatest song ever written. He decides to do it in his spare time after teaching all day. In the beginning, he hates the teaching job and wants to quit. But he sticks with it, thanks to his wife, Iris, encouraging him, and the birth of his son, Coltrane Gershwin Holland. Cole, who was born deaf, leads his father to realize that he is someone special, but learning music on his own and finally realizing why his father loves it so much. He teaches until the school cuts the music program. He inspires every student that ever took his class, but doesn't learn this until the end. Telling you the entire story would ruin the movie for you....but I'll tell you this. Mr. Holland's Opus is THE movie for music lovers, especially those of us who believe that without music, life would be boring and extremely difficult. It will inspire anyone and everyone....even those who don't care for music except listening to the radio. It will make you laugh, it will make you cry and it will teach you many lessons in history, music, and life.
