My heart flew away today
Sadness floods my mind
Carried on wings of silver gray
Left my empty shell behind.
My heart flew away; I let it slip out
I had no way to know.
Too deeply I loved, too late I found out
Just how far it would go.
Drowning in the memories
Borne of fire and passion and regret
The wind that whispers through the trees
Reminds me of that which I've tried to forget.
