I Can't Stop the Rain
You may think I’m taking this
Harder than I should
But your words cut me deeper
More than daggers ever could
And now my heart is breaking
The age-old metaphor
That you use to describe when love
Just doesn’t feel the same anymore
This cloud above my head keeps bursting
And the black rain keeps on falling down
The lighting won’t stop striking and
In my head the thunder pounds
And if I try my hardest, I may
Be able to hide the pain
But I can never run away because
I can’t stop the rain
You said our love would last forever
But I’ve known the truth all along
Forever is a long, long time
And nothing can be that strong
Whatever happened to the love
We said would never die
As the walls come crashing down
There’s nothing to do but cry
This cloud above my head keeps bursting
And the black rain keeps on falling down
The lighting won’t stop striking and
In my head the thunder pounds
I could do my best to smile
And ignore all the pain
But I can’t escape forever because
I can’t stop the rain
Why is it that I feel so used
My heart has got me so confused
I had never known love like this before
But I don’t know if I can go on anymore
This cloud above my head keeps bursting
And the black rain keeps on falling down
The lighting won’t stop striking and
In my head the thunder pounds
I could do my best to smile
And ignore all the pain
But I can’t escape forever because
I can’t stop the rain
