He Says

He says he wants to drop acid
And maybe X, maybe crystal meth
His reason is, when I ask him,
“They’re things I haven’t done yet.”
He’s got the hook up to get fucked up
But I don’t think he needs drugs to do that
I tried to handle all that comes with him
But collapsed under the weight of the bags.

He said, “I’ve been badly burnt and stepped on
In relationships that I had before;
Don’t want to use you as a rebound
Till I get scared and run out the door.”
I never know exactly when to believe him
If everything he tells me is true
He shifts back and forth from sweetheart to bastard
So now what am I supposed to do?

He says, “I like you” but next week
He’ll move on to another one
I say, “You lied to me,” he says,
“Where did you get that idea from?”
“You’re so pretty; you’re so wonderful;
I love how you walk.
I love your taste; I love your lips, your hips;
The way that you talk.”

He says, “I want you” but I know that all he really wants is “some.”
