I was half-asleep, when the phone rang. My dad picked it up, waited for a while and said: "Excuse me? Who is this?" He woke me up and asked: "Are you awake?" I looked at my dad strangely and said yeah I am. He gave me the phone and I heard a female voice there saying something I didn’t understand.
"Excuse me! It’s in the middle of the night and I have no ideas who you are." I said really rudely to her.
"Ok, Solid Harmonie!" she said.
"Yeah what about it?" I was confused.
"I’m Mariama from Solid Harmonie." I was shocked.
"Oh shit. Oh God. Oh, I’m sorry. Hi!" I tried to be very polite now.
"Hello. I’m so sorry for waking you and your dad up." She said giggling.
"That’s ok. This is a chance of a lifetime." I was still kinda shocked. I was really talking to Mariama Goodman. We spoke for about 5 minutes. She told me they were going to Holland on the next day (6th Nov) to make a big show, and Mariama was taking her mother with her, so she could see how they perform. She also told me their next album will be out next January. I asked, did she like the chocolate I gave her when she was here on the 25th Sept., and she said she loved it. She asked how were my singings going, ‘cause I told her in my letter, that I love to sing, and that I want to be a singer in the future. I told her that it wasn’t going any better, than when I wrote her the letter. She wished me good luck. That meant more for me any of you readers think.
"I’ll let you get back to sleep now. Tell your dad I’m sorry for waking his up." Mariama said. I imagined her smiling in the other side.
"You didn’t wake him up. He was watching the TV, but you woke me up" I was smiling.
"Oh, well say hi to him anyway."
"I will."
"Well, you take care, ok." She was finishing the phone call. I’m sure I would’ve spoken with her for another half an hour if it was up to me, but I couldn’ve done that.
"I hope to see you again soon." I said to her.
"We hope to come back to Finland soon also." Mariama said.
"Cool"
"Well bye then."
"Buh bye!" The phonecall was over. I tried to get to sleep again, but I didn’t get any sleep. I was just thinking of what could’ve I said, and what shouldn’t I have. But I was happy to have this little chat with her even though it didn´t last more than 5 minutes. It was over as soon as it had started. I remember when I was thinking just a while ago, that how cool it would have been if she DID call, but I never realized, that she COULD actually call.
