**HAMILTON MUSIC**

Hamilton

Hamilton is not exactly the Musical Capital of New Zealand, but there are some very original and talented artists coming out of the Waikato region. I've chosen just a few to include on this page, not to be selective, but because these are the only bands I could find bios (of sorts) and RealAudio files for!!

I've also included a few links for Hamilton performance venues and "hot spots", including a link for the Radio-Station-Formerly-Known-As Contact 89FM. They've changed their name (to UFM) and a bit of their professional structure, though the essence has stayed the same (hence the inclusion). When the website for the new-and-hopefully-improved station is launched, I will be updating accordingly, but for the meantime........

"Sarah's Washing", 10 minutes long, screened in New Zealand during the 1998 Film Festival. Greg is best known for Decaff, his series of animated short films.

"Hamilton's UFM have a new feature happening called Friday Night Live, and it's brought to you in association with Tracs Record Shops. It's pretty self-explanatory really - every Friday night on UFM you can hear a live gig at 10pm. Things kick off with Smashing Pumpkins live from Australia this week. Next week it's Massive Attack and coming up UFM presents Beastie Boys, Portishead, and Hamilton's own wonder-group Rumpus Room will be doin' it live on November 12th."
