The booklet is entitled Sing a Song of colors by
Linda Brown.

YELLOW BIRDIE
(tune: "She'll Be Coming Around the Mountain")
Yellow Birdie sitting in a lemon tree,
You're as pretty and as Yellow as can be.
I will give you such a treat,
Lots of bugs and worms to eat,
If you promise not to fly away from me.

BEND and SWAY
(tune:"London Bridge")
Yellow flowers bend and sway
Bend and sway, bend and sway;
Yellow flowers bend and sway
When the wind blows.

Yellow ducks say
"Quack, quack, quack," (repeat)
In the water.

Yellow birds
Are flying high (repeat)
In the sky.

Yellow lemons
In my tea (repeat)
Make me pucker.

Yellow chicks
Peck yellow corn (repeat)
In the barnyard.

Yellow songs
Are fun to sing (repeat)
I love yellow.

POEM
OUTSIDE AND IN
Yellow is for sunshine
That chases clouds away
It warms my skin
Outside and in
When I go out to play.

Colors is one of our favorite units. We sometimes do "color saturation" as
Elizabeth does. By the end of the unit we REALLY know our colors! :-) Here
are some more YELLOW songs and ideas that we've used.

SONGS

You Are My Sunshine

5 Little Ducks (we made yellow pom pom ducklings to use while we sing the
song)

Yellow Song (tune: Someone's In The Kitchen With Dinah")

Yellow is the color of bananas
Yellow is the color of the sunshine, too
Yellow is the color of corn on the cob
I like yellow don't you?
