Undergraduate Research Project

I led a student research team which developed a software program for the Coordinator of Student Affairs Office which we labeled as : Coordinator of Student Affairs Automated System (COSA). The Coordinator of Student Affairs office is responsible for coordination of student activities, discipline and reports to the parents on the development of each student. We develop various programs that will automate the function of this office. We created a database including all students in the University and their identification number. We then use FoxPlus, Clipper 5.3 and FoxPro 2.6 for Windows 3.11 to develop a system that will allow the office to keep tract of student absences, membership in various academic clubs and participation in various school activities. More importantly we developed a system that will suggest sanctions for a student if she/he violates the rules of student code of conduct on a case by case basis. The system is also capable of graphic interface and can print various reports based on the data used. This facilitates reporting by the office to the parents on update of student activities. This project was conducted from November, 1997 to March, 1999.
